Do I need to include referees on my resume?

It’s standard practice to include 2 or 3 referees on your resume, with at least one being someone who has directly supervised you in a teaching role or during your prac placements. Some schools may request you put your principal down as well.

Before submitting your application, I highly recommend contacting your referees to obtain their consent and provide them with a copy of your resume (and the job role if you are only applying for one), so they are well-prepared to speak on your behalf.

While you might consider stating ‘referees available on request’ my general advice is that the job advertisement is the request – therefore you need to list your referees on your CV.
